Around Bishkek

Women sell the famous lepyoshka bread in baby buggies. When we see one from far away coming towards us, Jonah and I like to guess whether a baby or bread is inside.
A typical sight: an old apartment with laundry hanging out the window, a muddy parking lot full of puddles, a Soviet car, and a group of mean wearing black, standing and doing nothing but smoking.

The city is covered in trash!

These marketers for laundry detergent, on the other hand, are not so in tune with vocabulary. Their product is called Barf, which means “clean” in Kyrgyz!

Coke marketers are so in-tune with their customers. This Kyrgyz Coke add features all their favorite traditional foods.
