12 hours of waiting later, he was wheeled into the operation prep area, and just as he was about to go into the operation room, a man was brought in who needed emergency brain surgery! Then just as the next operation room became available, another man with a brain injury was rushed in. Poor guys! Finally, at 1am, it was Jonah's turn.
The surgery went perfectly! They blew up his abdomen with carbon dioxide to make room for the equipment, and made three little incisions. They performed the whole thing with tiny cameras and tiny tools. He went home 12 hours after the surgery and is resting a lot now. He keeps asking me, "Do you still love me even though I am less of a man?" Of course I do!
first of all, I am THRILLED that you are moving to Olympia. that is my favorite town in the entire world.
ReplyDeletesecond, I'm so sorry about Jonah's appendix. Derek had his out in September - two nights before we were supposed to fly out to Washington! He left the hospital right as we were about to board our plane. At least Derek only had to wait 2 hours at the hospital (emergency room and surgery time included) I'm so sorry Jonah had to wait so long. Appendicitis is awful!!
Oh man! That doesn't sound fun at all! I hope he's recovering well. At least you have a fun hospital picture to look back on. That gown is a little scandalous and girly, don't you think, guys?
ReplyDeleteLogan and you now have spouses without Appendixes! Way to join the team, Jonah. You will never have to worry about it again!
