For Jonah's birthday, we went to the restaurant Beaches and watched motorboats decorated with Christmas lights go up and down the river. I told the waiter it was Jonahs' birthday, and he brought out a a beer cozy and a beer bottle opener... one of you might be receiving this for a white elephant present in the future...

Vancouver saw more snow the week before Christmas than it has
ever seen! The airports closed, so we tried to drive home to my house for Christmas, but after 3 hours and going less than 30 miles, we turned back. Jonah kept wishing that he was a little kid so he could fully appreciate the snow. But instead of playing in it, he shoveled it with a garden shovel in his pajamas.

Our first Christmas.

Our niece and nephews came over and we played all Christmas Day. Here we are playing Don't Wake Daddy with completely made-up rules.

Classic moment at the Barnes' house: everyone gathered around the Wii, watching Dan be the coolest grandpa in the world as he dominates them all.
