Latest Pictures Out and About

Half of the main square in Bishkek with the Lenin memorial museum and the national flag, under which two fully dressed soldiers stand throughout the day.

Our new friend who ate with us on Women's Day. It was so funny that we got each other both three carnations. When I was at the market getting her flowers, I only got her one, but then I thought, "What if she gets me more than one?" so I bought two more and I'm so glad I did!

The funniest cartoon advertisement in town. The guy has massive arms with which he easily holds the two kids. The boy has rosey cheeks and the girl is holding a lapyoshka--the traditional bread here. And there is a yurt--traditional house--in the background with gorgeous Kyrgyz scenery.

It was a gorgeous day on Saturday, so we walked around the city for hours with some friends. This is the "White House" where the president and his crew work but do not live.

What random graffiti to have on the walls... It says, "Emo sucks!" and it was also written in Russian on the next wall.
