A Birthday and Great Weather!

Making Simon Peter's Bumblebee transformer birthday cake. Jonah and I have loved doing shaped cakes for our kids the past few years. They are so bad (our cakes could be on the Pinterest FAIL blog), but we have a lot of fun making them and the kids think they are pretty neat.
When we arrived at church, the boys jumped out of the car first. I got Hannah, and when I turned around, I saw them holding the door open for me. I was so delighted by their gentlemanly gesture that I had to stop and take a picture.

Our AMAZING Bumblebee cake.

Simon Peter LOVED it!

He got a photo album full of pictures of him and his brothers with real trucks.

He also got an excavator!

Danny insisted on showing Simon how to use it.

A marching band at the Veterans Day parade

The Shriners with their tiny trucks were the hit of the parade. The boys gave them a standing ovation.

The dudes rested old palm leaves on cracked stepping stones and made slides for their ninja turtles.

Animal caves.  These cushions provide so much entertainment.

Loving Hannah

This was supposed to be my garden...

But this is a much better use.

An overcast day meant a day full of yard work. And pricks from all the thorns, because everything here has thorns. Or spikes. Huge spikes. (That's a shark face sweatshirt on Samuel)

Hannah was not happy about doing yard work. Or wearing a  sweatshirt with ears.

Danny loved yard work. As long as they can use their trucks, these dudes are so helpful in the yard.

A komodo dragon family.

I laughed when Jonah said he wanted a reel mower. But now that all 3 boys can mow the lawn, I am no longer laughing. We all love the reel mower.
